Lab Activity: Observations of a Chemical Reaction
This lab activity is best used in the beginning of the school year or when the scientific method is discussed. Students will be able to distinguish between observations and interpretations, classify the steps in the experiment as either a chemical or physical change, and identify their observations as either qualitative or quantitative. Materials your students will need:
- Goggles
- Aprons
- Glass stirring rod
- 150mL beaker
- Metal scoop
- Thermometer
- Copper (II) chloride
- Aluminum foil

- Markers
- Erasers
