When I first started teaching I would teach content, then use laboratory activities to reinforce what I taught. It wasn't until I changed school districts that I was inspired to use labs to actually teach content. This small change to my instruction really helped me to focus on the nature of science with my students. In this video I share four types of labs you can do to move away from the cookbook lab and instead focus on the science practices.
